With the emphasis placed on our 24 hour slow fermented sourdough bread made with wild yeasts , we also sell a selection of sweet and savoury pastries, delicious breakfast toasties, specialist hot sandwiches and an extensive coffee and tea list, and not forgetting the famous Scotch Egg Sunday special.
Originally opened 7 years ago by the wonderful Tom and Maddie, deep in the heart of Northampton’s ‘Boot and Shoe Quarter’. It’s discreetly nestled in the back streets alongside the Renowned ‘Crocket and Jones’ shoe factory. Magee street was taken on by Elliot and Alfie and enjoyed incredible success. Now into its third ownership Magee street Bakery is centre of community life and a place to buy wonderful bread and pastries, where everything is produced on site.

Our Sourdough is a 24-hour slow fermented bread made from the simplest of ingredients, only flour, salt and water.
We use an aged sourdough starter or ‘Mother’, (which was lovingly named ‘Olive’ by Magee Street Bakery creator’s daughter). This is the vital ingredient that gives us the unique flavour of our bread.
Baked Daily the process begins 24 hours before, allowing the bread to develop slowly for a delicious, complex taste and to deliver the distinctive ‘sour’ flavour.
We offer the option of plain or seeded loaves which both include white and wholemeal flour(Locally sourced from suppliers Heygates which means minimal carbon footprint) giving the bread a richer, deeper texture and taste.
Our menus change regularly with offerings for breakfast, lunch or just a snack.
